E-Medical Education
Medcasts are indirectly interactive meetings, enabling consistent communication across multiple audiences. A Medcast is a meeting that takes place between 1-broadcasting site and multiple audiences at receiving sites. Medcast can take place either LIVE, as it happens, or SEMI-LIVE, when the presentation is streamed shortly after the event. Audiovisual contact is established with the aid of professional cameras at the receiving site and either internet sound or phone connection depending on whether it is LIVE or SEMI-LIVE.
Medcasting enables speakers and thought leaders to reach a wide audience whilst the audience can remain in their own location. The speakers deliver presentations which are followed by the multiple audiences, who can respond by using a Q&A functionality making webcast ‘indirectly interactive’. This format of Medical Education saves time and effort by enabling wide coverage of key events such as satellite symposia, resulting in optimal distribution of information in a short period of time.
